HELLO, BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD!

Altus Baytown ER is Now In-Network with Even More Insurance Options!

Blue Cross Blue Shield Patients Can Now Enjoy Better Healthcare!

We have exciting news! Throughout the year, Altus Baytown ER has been on a mission to expand it’s insurance coverage options to provide better healthcare for Baytown and the surrounding communities. We took the first step back on September 1st, 2019, when we first transitioned to become the preferred outpatient ER of Altus Baytown Hospital, allowing our facility to take Medicare patients. Then, back on January 2020, we officially became an in-network provider of CIGNA.

Then, the world changed. After the COVID-19 virus was declared a pandemic, we foresaw a great need for safe, efficient, fast ER care for the community that was eminent. We took action immediately.

As a result, on August 2020, we announced that we had become in-network with Aetna and Aetna TRS, Cigna, and Cigna Health Spring. This was great news for the whole community! Still, we knew there was more work to be done to help more get premium ER care.

For this reason, we are proud to announce that as of October 2020, Altus Baytown ER is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS).

What is the Difference Between In-Network and Out-of-Network Providers?

Insurance companies negotiate service rates with a network of facilities to help provide better prices for their members.

The healthcare facilities that agree to offer their services at the negotiated discount rate are considered to be in-network providers.

Any hospital or emergency room that does not have a contract with the insurance company is an out-of-network provider.

So, What Does This Mean to YOU?

As we mentioned before, you will receive the best emergency care possible, with guaranteed low wait times.

Additionally, when you come to our facility in Baytown our Patient Advocate can now examine your healthcare plan in detail.

Our team of experts will explain your benefits and provide you with a general overview of where your deductible is today, what you could pay once processed through the ER, as well as the copay associated with your insurance plan.

What this does is eliminate a lot of the confusion and guesswork that is so often associated with the billing process at an out-of-network facility.

IN A NUTSHELL, THIS MEANS PEACE OF MIND. You will have contracted rates with your insurance company, which means your insurance will pay for some or all of the services you receive from us.

Are In-Network Emergency Rooms Better than Out of Network ER’s?

Not necessarily. The quality of care you receive at an ER center is not dependent on them being part of a network or not.

Rather it depends on the quality of doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff they have working for them as well as the diagnostic equipment they have in their facilities.

All Altus Emergency Centers are known to provide more personalized care and significantly lower wait times. Additionally, we strive to hire only the best doctors, nurses, and technicians to ensure that our patients receive the best care possible.

Moreover, we continuously invest in new technologies that provide faster, more accurate test results that help our physicians make the right diagnos

Why Altus Emergency Centers is Different

We’ve always prided ourselves on the high quality of our care, and our patients agree, our staff always goes above and beyond the call of duty.

However, some of our patients expressed their concerns regarding their out-of-pocket expenses for the services we provided, not only did we understand we agreed that we could do better. So we set out to find a solution that worked, and we found it.
