Dr. Suchmor Thomas, MD

Introducing Dr. Suchmor Thomas, MD.

Lake Jackson’s New Medical Director

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Suchmor Thomas, MD, the new medical director for our Lake Jackson center.

For years, Altus Emergency Center Lake Jackson has been an intricate part of the community. We continuously try to improve the lives of the members of our community by partnering with various organizations.

Our goal has always been to provide the best care for our patients and to help advance our tightknit community.

We feel our recent changes in how we staff our Emergency Centers speaks volumes as to how much we want to make a difference in the lives of patients.

Direct Staffing

A few months back, Altus Emergency Centers made the bold decision to directly hire all the doctors that would work in our ER centers.

There were several reasons for this decision:

We understood that many of you had billing issues with the previous group. We now have more control from the billing. Our billing team located in the facility will now be taking care of the physicians’ bills.

We have better control to select the physicians we want working at the facility giving us more access to pick the best in the area.

We believe we have successfully accomplished all these goals. There are, however, a few issues we are dealing with, mostly regarding billing for services before our direct staffing took place.

The Importance of Having an Experienced ER Doctor in Charge

Dr. Suchmor Thomas has vast experience working in the ER, which is one of the reasons we chose him for the position of medical director.

Working as an ER doctor requires much preparation, nerves of steel, as well as passion and dedication. ER physicians need to be able to make split-second life-saving decisions; this requires not only knowledge, excellent communication skills, and confidence.

All physicians working in our emergency centers have these qualities, which is why we knew our medical director must also have them. The choice to hire Dr. Thomas as our medical director came as a result of his preparation, excellent performance, and the respect he has earned from his peers in our ER.

We stole a few precious minutes out of the busy day of Dr. Thomas to get to know him better. We think he is a terrific individual and a gifted physician, but don’t take our word for it, read on to get to know him better.
