Obinna Ononobi, affectionately known as Obi by his friends, joined the Altus Health team in 2013 as an Executive Fellow, during which time he rotated throughout the modalities under the guidance of the then Regional Executive Vice President and President Kevin Herrington. In 2014, Obi’s background in business and finance earned him a leadership role with the emergency centers, until elevating to overseeing the entire operations for Altus Waxahachie ER and Marketing Director for all Altus emergency markets, including Altus Lumberton Hospital. Obi’s charismatic, diligent, team-playing mentality and friendly personality has helped Altus bond with it’s surrounding communities.
In his new role, as the Vice President of Business Development and Marketing Strategy, he will partner with senior leadership in leading multiple ERs and Hospital. His primary responsibility will be cultivating strategic partnership and developing growth agendas and will be intimately involved in the hospital’s/ERs strategic planning, capital planning, Marketing and physician relations. He will continue to have complete oversight of Altus Emergency Center Waxahachie.
A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Obi began his career in Dallas, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Abilene Christian University before obtaining a Master’s in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration at Dallas Baptist University. Professionally, Obi enjoys working in hospital operations and strategy. In addition, he likes to travel, workout, church, and spend time with his lovely wife, son, and daughter.
