Visit Lake Jackson Texas the City of Enchantment
It’s no coincidence that Lake Jackson’s nickname is “The City of Enchantment”. A combination of scenic beauty and unique city planning results in its distinctive personality that many have grown to love. Whether you live here or are thinking of passing by, this article is dedicated to our beloved Brazoria County town of Lake Jackson Texas, a remarkable place home to a fun-loving and tight-knit community.
Unlike most towns, Lake Jackson Texas was conceived and planned before a single stone was laid. As a matter of fact, Oak Drive where Altus Emergency Center Lake Jackson is located was the very first street constructed. Architect Alden B. Dow, the man responsible for the town’s design, is considered a visionary. Mr. Dow gave clear instructions to the workers to spare as many trees as possible during the construction, thus preserving the natural history and ecosystems of the area while at the same time creating an enchanting city. As a result, thanks to him, Lake Jackson could be regarded as one of the first environmentally conscious cities in the country.
